Design Story
Expansive glazing and a bright stone interior set a calm foundation for this Marina Bay dining room. TIOR STUDIO selected pale timber furniture with low, grounded proportions to complement the view and soften the architectural surfaces.
A long table, bench seating, a compact cabinet, and an open display shelf create a complete dining environment without crowding the perimeter. The result feels quiet, tactile, and highly usable.
A Pendant Draws the Dining Canopy
The long white pendant runs parallel to the table, giving the dining zone a clear ceiling line without interrupting the waterfront glazing. Mixed chairs and a bench sit lightly around the pale top, so a generous number of seats still reads as an open composition.
Open Storage at the Room’s Edge
A tall shelving unit turns the narrow end wall into useful display space while its open frame allows light and sightlines to pass through. The low cabinet and sparse ceramics below keep the storage arrangement calm rather than visually dense.
A Credenza Composed as a Still Life
The pale credenza is lifted on dark angled supports, giving the storage volume a furniture-like lightness. Branches and sculptural vessels gather toward one end, leaving enough empty surface for the timber grain and quiet wall texture to remain part of the composition.
Cylindrical Legs Set the Table Rhythm
Seen close to the window, the table’s repeated round legs establish a strong crafted rhythm against the linear rug border. Slim chair backs and the distant city keep the substantial timber base from feeling heavy.
Organic Objects Warm the Storage Wall
A compact group of branches and hand-shaped vessels adds height, asymmetry, and a human scale to the low cabinet. Their earthy silhouettes bridge the pale timber, mineral wall finish, and darker support at the cabinet’s edge.
