Design Story
The restrained concrete palette of this Manhattan interior needed a dining area with presence but limited visual noise. TIOR STUDIO centered the room on a round timber table and a tightly edited set of low stools.
A soft pendant, patterned rug, and minimal branch arrangement introduce warmth and texture. The result is intimate, practical, and clearly defined within the open plan.
A Luminous Center
The pendant creates a soft pool of light directly over the table, giving the compact dining zone a clear identity.
Seating That Tucks Away
Low upholstered stools sit neatly beneath the table edge, preserving circulation when the dining area is not in use.
Dark Timber, Soft Upholstery
The rich wood table is balanced by pale seats, creating contrast without departing from the muted architectural palette.
A Grounded Arrangement
The rug traces the footprint of the table and stools, visually containing the dining zone within the larger room.
